
NBC has sent out 17 more invites to join the 20 already invited to the 2008 National Heads-Up Poker Championship that begins Feb 28th at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
The tournament is a $20,000 buy-in invitation only event that runs a bracket style system (like NCAA basketball tournament) and will be contested over a span of three days. The overall winner will claim $500,000 and the heads up title that proves they bested one of the most difficult fields of professional poker players assembled into one tournament.
So far, first time invites are 2007 Bluff magazine’s Player of the Year, Bill Edler, Card Player magazine’s Player of the Year, David “The Dragon” Pham and Kenny Tran who had great runs at the WSOPE Event and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. WSOP Main Event.
